bug!? from northern Okla.

Is this a bug abdomen? We find a lot of plant stems here, but this looks different...so ..is it a bug?

It reminds me of a rattlesnake rattle, but it you're right it does look like the underside of a beetle.

Now that's an interesting one.
It definitely looks like a section of a creature that moved without legs..by the plates on what appears to me to be the underside.
