Found this button, its in great shape for a dug find. Is anybody out there familiar with the pattern or a possible date?

Here is one that is not exactly like yours but very similar. According to the George Washington Inaugural Buttons site, the button that is similar to yours is an 1820's to 1830's Maine Militia button. There are also 18 known variations of the Maine Militia button.

There are 18 variations pictured in Tice's book and none of them are even close to yours. In fact there is not a matching button in Tice's book. I will look at some more references but, hopefully someone will ID it soon.

Agreed. To me it looks like a 20th C metal in a 19th C Style of button.
