Picking up a used California Sluice Stream Highbanker tomorrow and have ordered a 2.5 hp 2" pump that some folks have recomended on the T-net. This sluice is a drop riffle design and the pump is a 4200 gph/70 gpm and should be more than I need and will probably have to valve it down. Company says it will run with as little as 35 gpm. Will a drop riffle sluice pitch be sim. to a raised riffle sluice 2" to 1'. Any advice from those who may have run one of these would be appreciated such as sluice pitch etc.

I have their GMS highbanker. You will know when the set-up is right. To much water and you clean out the riffles. To steep and you clean out the riffles. Not enough of either and sand starts to build up. The first set-up can be a royal pain, but you will remember how fast you had the water and how steep. I use a 5.5 horse 2" at half throttle to get around 50 gallons per minute.. I can run 8 plus hours on a gallon of gas with to much motor..
