Just cleaning on a raining day and found this name on brass plate (Luggage Tag ?) found at an old site of mine.
Looks to me to be John Halker. Anyone see something different? I do not see a horizontal bar on the H. If not an H what are the first two letters? Hope to but an old name on a 17th century home site! 11 - 1 (61).jpg

I can see some mark on the H, Little higher than normal for the H. I'm seeing a very faint white line on the photo

I think GopherDaGold is right. It looks like a W. It also looks like it has 4 mounting holes.
