Didn't plan on stopping there today but I'm glad I did.

***$45/Pennies***

Wheaties were unusually sub-par. But Canadians made up for it.

1945-S, 1946, 1956-D, 1958-D

Canadian: [red]1920,[/red] 1966, 1969, 1981, 1984, 1999

Not only a new personal record for oldest Canadian penny (it beats the 1932 I found in 2006) it's also the oldest I could possibly find! All Canadian pennies before 1920 are large cents. It also becomes my oldest foreign coin ever found, beating a 1929 Panama 5 centesimos I found in 2004. Definitley a discovery for the record books, and the new date to beat!

***$40/Nickels***

Nothing too exciting, at least one [blue]keeper[/blue] though.

Pre-1960: [blue]1939,[/blue] 1940, 1941-S (Small S), 1948, 1954-D (3)

Canadian: 1994

I wouldn't say it's impossible to find a Canadian large cent. I found a 1918 silver Canadian half dime (5 cent piece used before the nickel) in 2007 even though it's much smaller than any circulating U.S. or Canadian coin. The large cents are roughly the size of a quarter and could theoretically find their way into a quarter bag or roll.

I recall someone on here finding a large cdn penny in some quarter rolls. A 1920 cdn penny is still a good one though!
