That Barber looks beautiful, but you may have diminished it's value by polishing. Still, I wouldn't mind having a looker like that!

Gadget, I have a Nikon Coolpix L4. It is about the size of a deck of cards and fits in my shirt pocket. Nice to take along on hunts.
It takes a nice close up in Macro mode.

Halfdime, The Barber has a rim nick on the back side and from what I have read it would not be a collector coin because of this. If not for the nick I think it would have been a $135 coin .

Thanks to all. It is great to be hunting again. And so easy with these new lightweight machines.

D :-Xmn, thats good..also don't polish the coins, even though they look better, the poisher moves the metal around and the coin is now "whized" This will severly damage the coins value....(still really shiney)

Just a funny note to add. When I was a teenager my baby sister polished one of my silver dollars with sand paper. When I got home she looked so proud of the way she polished my dingy looking silver dollar that I couldn't even think about getting mad at her. Now she has the metal detecting fever as bad as I do. If you read this sis, I love you!!!
