Chasing the answer: Anglo Boer War site? (South Africa)

Stumbled upon this hill and it's been dishing up some cool 1881 - 1902 finds. Think it's an unknown battlefield but there is no record of a contact happening here. Just for interest:

I've researched the Boer war some, the Boers/Farmers put up a good fight against the well trained British army! I have an ML XT-70, the only thing you can really do in a highly mineralized area is learn your machine well enough to know the ghost signals the hot rocks give off. I detect a castle ruin site built on top of a basalt rock foundation and the detector goes crazy but, I can pick out the targets. That erratic problem you are having is probably coming from that tower nearby. I usually walk away from those areas or get far enough away from them. A friend sent me several Boer war relics he detected, cool stuff! HH, Mike
