Been on a roll lately. The last three weeks have been kind to me. Found a dateless large cent(4th in the last month), my 2nd walking lib halve(1941), 2 mercs, 2 rosies, one washington quarter(1953), 5 silver rings, a 10k highschool ring(returned to owner), dateless buffole nickle, and many wheaties(no significant dates), silver pendant. Plus a boatload of clad, enough to go out to dinner and buy batteries.
So today, I had a couple of hours to kill, and i went to a local field that has yielded many colonial coppers, silver thimbles and old buttons(not to me unfortunately). However, I did find my 2nd croatal bell. It was in very good shape and still had the clapper. It rings load and clear and will make a fitting addition to my wife's Christmas ornaments, She thinks its my best find to date. Also found a broken pocket watch, plus a heavy button or coin(needs cleaning to ID).
To finish I want to wish everyone on this forum merry Christmas, happy holidays, and peace in the current year.
