Well you don't where I live but I have heard that some cities require it. I'm sure each city imposes their own laws and it is always best to check first. For sure you can't hunt in places that are designated historical areas. Jim Cal

here in cleveland you can hunt the metro parks with out a permit but it is reccommended to get one , and its free, the suburb i live has no laws banning metal detecting nor do the surrounding towns. a simple e-mail to the town is how i found out and i asked an officer at the pd across form one of the parks i hunted. i carry my permit with me in the metro when hunting just ot avoid any "misunderstandings"..good luck and HH ....serb
