After a hard 5 hour hunt we were very pleased with our finds. John's very first signal was a 1841 seated dime! A short time later I dug a 1908 Presidential campaign tag. Bryan ran against Taft in 1908. Bryan also ran in 1896 and 1900 I believe. John also dug a really nice complete sword hanger. I hit a spot that produed 3 buttons, one a Cavalry button. The batwing was my first, it was in great condition, they were attached to the end of the belt worn over the shoulder of the soldier. All in all a great beginning to the digging season. I hope everyone has good luck also. Tsgman

Good luck with the new deck.

You got one hell of a yard to hold it. Wood is expensive to.

I know what you mean about the dry hot weather. It discourages me throuout the summer months also.

We just finally got a ton of rain. I wanna get out this evening. The dry grounds have scrtched and broke alot of nice finds I made over the summer.

Good luck with everything man.

WOOOOOT!!!!!!!!! GO CARDS!!!! AND SEATED DIMES!!!! Lol :D

Where are you guys in SW missouri if you dont mind my asking? I live in springfield and have always wanted to hunt a civil war site! There was a skirmish just west of town I would like to look over but havent got the chance yet. My dad and his friend hunted it some Years back and found some bullets and an infantry button.

there was a battle at Drury College here in town but the butt wipes who run the school wont let anybody look it. >:( Just think of all those coins buttons bullets and just Stuff that is rotting into the ground or just sinking. Its a load.
The skirmish west of Spfld, Mo was probably Zagony's charge. He was commanding about 145 of Gen. Fremonts body guard. He also had some of Whites Union Cavalry with him? They charged around 1300 CSA all waiting for them. After the first volley They charged them and the Rebs broke and ran and were routed. Good luck, Tsgman
