I just bought an X-Terra 705. I have 2 coils. The standard and the double d coil. I like finding old coins, silver and jewelry the most, but finding buttons, buckles, and civil war stuff is fun too. Which coil is the better of the 2? I heard that the double d is more for relics. Is that true? Also does the double d go deeper? Please give me any info you can about the differances, depth and what to expect to find between the 2 coils I have. Thank you!

There is a LOT to learn about coils. For example, I hit a 1920's house and there was nothing but trash in the ground. I used a very small coil, took a LONG time (I eventually gave up). But, had I of used a larger coil, I would be beeping every half second. TO be honest, this land was so trashed, that even with the smallest coil, it was totally useless. I could have dug in a place without even aiming and found rusted iron, aluminum, steel, glass, band-aides, etc.... etc... It was really ugly.
