Coins Before 1950 Are Silver?

Ok, let's say a nickel dated 1943 that isn't all black like the clad coins I've been finding. Would it be safe to say that it's silver?

is it a war Nickel ?

Does it have a P - S - or D above Montecello on the Reverse ?

If YES, then YES it has Silver in it. 35%

Dates 42 Through 45, But if it Dosn't have the Large Letter it's Not Silver

Yes, it does have a 'P' above Monticello. So, I guess this has silver, then! Yay for me! lol My first silver find!

What's the Year ?

if 1943 Look for a 3 over 2 Error or Double Eye Error.

The Eye would probably bee too hard to tell.

I'm not sure how hard it is to see the 3 over 2 in the date.

Apparently they Re-Used the 1942 Die for awhile in 1943.

It is Very Hard to see but These may help
