Columbian Exposition Commerative Half

Did a little hunting on the way to go hunting this past Friday. Searched about $800 in rolls, 300 in fed rolls and the rest hand rolls. Picked up 7 40%ers and my first Columbian Exposition 1893 commemorative half. Nice looking coin! Are these common? Haven't heard of anyone here mentioning this coin in the 4-5 months I've been on.

I've heard of a few others finding them, but they are by no means common.

As commemeratives go, it is one of the more common ones, that and the Booker T. Washington. Still very nice CRH find.

Very nice SMB. They have been found previously, but it is definitely not an everyday occurrence....thus an excellent find. Kudos to you!!!

It still amazes me that coins that old are still being found out there in the wild. Earlier in the year I found a nice toned one.....as you now know...it was exciting.

Hmmmm....am I to read between the lines here....lol. Yes, it was pre-retirement. I think it was in the first quarter of this year.

You will know when I get started again....hopefully I will have found enough to take a picture of....ha....better yet, on my first day back, even if I find only one 40% I will take a picture and post it....lol...... .
