There are wood all across North America that are full of holes just like that..
You just never see them, because no one has taken the time needed to dig all the dirt out of them

Im with Brandy. Someones digging for arrowheads. Are there piles of dirt next to the holes that look like they have been run through a screen? Seperate smaller piles of small rocks and perhaps flint chips?

Everyone is off base on this one. As you can see in the photos provided that these mounds are the work of the forest gnomes. They hid gold in the forest saw Shermanville out detecting and dug up their treasures.

Upon further reflection I would say it is 50/50 between Templars digging up section E of the Hall of Records, or someone looking for a Leprechaun's gold.

BTW, if you do find a Leprechaun's gold, DO NOT take it.
