Complete 1800's lock

Did a quick hunt at a new permission site. It's very large but looks very promising. Multiple houses were once located on it. My favorite find of the day is the complete lock but found a few other goodies. I wonder what the big anchor thing is. I was thinking maybe for a horse harness or possibly a button of some type? Any help would be appreciated. I can't wait to get back and do a proper hunt of the property. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

I've never dug one of those big old locks! The button sort of has a "shipping button" look to it.

I'm not always the one to dig those bigger hits but glad I did this time.

Super busy time of year for me but I squeeze hunts in whenever I can. I know there is some old silver and coins lurking around there somewhere! [emoji2]

" a few old house sites ?"

That sounds really cool rigth there.
That lock is a good find IMO, have never got one either. and I would like one, as I have a RR switch key that would go with it nicely.
The "BIG" button IDK...
Your season should be winding down soon ?

One season down and two to go and I'll have some longer times. I'm hoping to meet up with you somewhere sometime this summer for a good hunt. You ever hunt in the black rock/harbourville area out your way? I got some great leads from fisherman there and one of the wives even wrote a local history book about the area with maps, locations, etc. one guy will even take us to some spots and leave us to it! I did a bit of a hunt "near" Black Rock once, a spot that has a rather big legend attached to it, anyway hope you soon get a day off, and Yes that would be cool, esp. if you have some good "current" info.

Again the lock is a good find, I have a ton of old coins, and NOT one old lock.
