First the cat woke me up. Since the doctor said it was ok to dig, I had a small spot a dozer had gone through on a Confederate camp. So I went. Then the train went through and made a racket, I don't have a lot of stamina so had to do a short dig.

The train is about 3" long! I have also rescued the earth from aluminum cans! Not much lead this time, kind of surprising. Got a bunch of other stuff, but its still in the truck.

I need a road trip!

Nice finds. I found a buckle like the one you have on the right. I think it is a waist adjuster. Does yours say Paris Solide? Does it have a date? Happy Hunting.

Lenmac65, it does say "Paris", but I don't see anything else. The bigger buckle is a Confederate Georgia Frame. Several have come off this site, as well as two Confederate CS tongue and wreaths. I thought we had it pounded good, but they took out some large trees and moved maybe a foot of dirt off one small area. These guys were hidden in the aluminum can breeding grounds.

IUll tell ya I used to run heavy equipment offer the guy a case of some good brewskies and tell him where you want him to move some dirt for a day or so.. Cool relics Smokey

A2coins, all but this little area, the woods and some grass is "buried" under 7' of corn! The woods have copperheads so not going there and it's full of trash and the grass I won't go in until after frost. That way I can come back next year!

Nice Buckle finds. Congrats!

very interesting finds...congrats!!!!!!!!

Hi, nice finds. Congrats:icon_thumleft:

Some good looking buttons. I like the buckle too. Congrats

Thanks all. I got one Confederate button but the pic was corrupted. Will try later.

Guess the Yankees overan the camp at one time with empty .44 Henrys found there?

Thank you all. I am out playing today. Got some nice Indian artifacts but unable to put up pics.

Nice buttons, buckles, bullet and Henry brass! How long were you able to hunt? Still too hot for me.

Three hours. It was surface hunting Indian artifacts. Found not kidding 22 pounds of them! Pounds! Flint Ridge, Ohio. Mainly cores, blanks, scrapers and bladelets.

Nice! 22 pounds - did you have a pack mule to haul them out?

No need. Truck was parked 20 feet away. I would get a few pieces and put them ina bucket and every once in awhile just stick them in the truck. Weighed them on the way out. Been out of action since mid June and in three days tearing it up.
