Cool door knocker given tonight!

A friend just gave me this door knocker he found on an old gate. It's about 8 inches tall, 5 inches wide and about 8-10 pounds. I'd like to say I dug it but I didn't. Anyone seen anything similar?

My guess that it's from the 1880s to 1900....a very nice gift. Due to its size, it might be worth around $100 at least.
