We did some research and went to the university charts for comparisons.
Looks to be native american pottery, guessing from the 600 - 1400 AD range.
Found about 38" under overburden near bedrock. Same area had LARGE rocks from a wall or structure.
Top one is a simple checker press pattern. The lower appears to be corncob press.
Pretty cool.

I would take those pictures down, even thought they are way cool, before some beauracrat comes and ropes you off and run you off your claim. JMHO.

They are found all the time around there.
This was just our first.
I'm really hoping to find a grinding stone.
They found a complete set, stone and bowl a few years back.

That was a very cool find. The only thing that would be cooler is if they had gold flakes stuck to the side of them....
