correct fit?

Strange place to put this question, but didn't get any responses on the Civil War forum. Just wondering if this is the correct scabbard for a Mansfield and Lamb sword? It seems pretty crude to me with the folded over metal exposed. Also, most pictures I've seen show iron hangers, and these are brass. The fit seems o.k., but I'm just wondering.................

I didn't find any Mansfield and Lamb swords with a lap seamed scabbard. But that doesn't mean they didn't exist. I did see a number of references to Confederate swords with lap seamed scabbards, though.

You'll likely have to post your question in a reputable sword forum to get a good answer.

The scabbard sure looks confederate, let us know what you find out.
