Larry called the other day to see if I wanted to go digging, I said of course, where we going, he didn't know. I don't think this is the way to start the day, we decided to go to a corn field that we had hunted a little while and where I found an Indian. We get there and I am hunting the single rows of corn, sure can't swing very wide in a corn row..the stalks were about 8 inches high. I did manage to dig a pushed Eagle button and then a 1859 Indian, a short while later I dig a high number signal and out comes what I thought was Large Cent number 4 for the year, it was covered with mud and I carried it over to Larry to show him, I believe he thought it was a large cent gave the congrats and I started to clean the coin off and saw it was not a large cent...It turned out to be one of the worst Barber half Dollars I have ever seen..With lots of looking and wishing I can read the date of 189?. But as they say

I found a Walking Liberty half with loads of corrosion on the surface. I too thought I had a large cent until I washed it and stared at it long enough that I recognized some of the detail that was showing. Some electrolysis helped get more of the crud off. Yours looks pretty clean in comparison.

Nice job on the silver! At first I was thinking flowing hair or large cent, sure not barber half. Then I read the post. Nice!
