Wow those are two excellent button finds! I am by no means a button expert but the pewter navy button is probably rev war or pre rev war. I'd be interested to hear what the experts say. The button that's made to look like a reale is pretty amazing too definitely 1700's! Sometimes they made cuff buttons out of authentic half reales that were repurposed into buttons.

Very cool and like the Navy. You sure it's not lead? Years ago I dug one in the French style that is cast lead.

I am pretty sure it is pewter and it was dug 2 feet away from the reale button. Not sure why it is in much better shape though. When I dug it I was thinking it was tombac

Yeah could be pewter, just superb condition. It's a great find but that kind of condition you'd like to put in your back pocket for a really rare regiment button.
