I just got in the door and so excited to post this that i didn't even rinse and check the dates of the coin spill. Ive been wanting a US silver for along time and now i have some. I see standing liberties and barbers in the mix.i will post more pictures and dates later when I'm done cataloging all of them. They are mostly all quarters with some dimes and five cent pieces mixed in. I thought i wouldn't top my 26 silver Newfoundland coin find a awhile back but i did. They all were in a small area on a old driveway and the ground was packed hard. Took me two hours to dig them all out. At a quick glance they look to all be from late 1800's to late 1920's. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

Coins and Canada - Canadian coins price guide, value, errors and varieties

If you haven't already started to look at prices and variations... This might help you a lot!
Still in awe and wonder on how these things even happen and nobody sees any of these coins laying around?!?!?!?!?
Freaking cool!
Thanks. I was thinking maybe back in the day the grass was longer there and they just disappeared in it. Also if it was used a lot and got somewhat muddy maybe they got squished just under the surface enough to disappear. Guess we will never know! [emoji2]

Im tore between leaving them as is or cleaning them up some. Hope to hear what more people have to say about the whole thing first i guess! [emoji2]

The reason I would leave them is because when in a pile, and looked at by a fellow digger, they scream cache! If you clean them they lose that effect.

outstanding ! I'm trying to understand how that many coins end up in a spill in such a small area ? I guess I could see them being
in a sack or something bio degradable - and then the lot of them is either cached, or dropped by accident . Congratulations on the
Banner ( I was waiting for better pics/descriptions )

I think I'm going to keep them as are. My wife has a super good camera so when i get her to take some shots there will probably be way clearer pictures to post! [emoji2]

I wonder if there could have been some kind of winter park concession stand right there - people stepping up and buying fish and tea
or something - but the coins would have to be lost in some fresh snow (or I suppose tall grass ) for people not to be aware of the
losses . I think there may be quite a bit more around there !

I heard there was a store on the property way back. Probably trade going on there for sure. Also someone said it could possibly rum running money which was rampant in my area back then. I wish the rest of the property was still original because who knows what could have been there to find but i knew the little road was untouched. I guess we will never know but I'm sure glad they didn't fill the road all in when they built the new house and yard.

I am going to look for any possible mini original spots left there though and pray for more finds. Also going over the same spot and dig the crappiest signal out just in case.

Holy shat!!!!! Congratulations! Lots of sweet silver there, and some key dates as well. The two 1921 Canadian quarters and worth a chunk of change. Vf is $150 each! Well done. I wouldn't separate or clean them up much either. Some of them could still have lustre!

Im slowly looking into them. The 1915 is a key date also but what looks real good is the 1913 Canadian dime. Its the rare broad leave variety which can be worth some nice bucks.
