I've thought about ordering straps of $2 bills... I've gotten plenty of star notes including a $100 star note with a serial number of just 3 digits (ex: 000000449*)
And I have a $2 star note, all from just receiving cash back when I turn in my coins.

I dabbled in it a little. I bought $2000 in $2 bills and didn't even find 1 star note. I have better luck searching my currency at work from the till. I've found a couple radars, quite a few crisp stars, and some binary notes. I made a few bucks on them selling them on eBay. I imagine if you got $1M in singles from the bank, you'd probably find something cool. It's just like CRH or anything else - volume is key. If the rare bills were everywhere they wouldn't be rare. You have to do some volume.

I have been keeping track of star notes I receive.

Since 2011, I have gotten 49 star notes.

25 $1s
8 $2s
3 $5s
4 $10s
7 $20s
1 $50
1 $100

I don't ask for them, most of the time I just get them in change and transactions.

We will every now and then ask for a strap of bills just to look and see what we find, I find most of mine through my CRHing transactions at the bank, I deal in a lot of cash every week doing this so I find hundred dollar star notes kinda often, these are a qwik couple I have recieved from my dump banks, the pic with the 100's in my hand was givin to me by one of my dump banks, sadly I had to turn right around and give them to the bank right across the street to get my halves, easy come easy go I guess. A year or so ago it seems we use to find them often, now, not so much. HH, Maverick.

How much is in a strap of ones? Twos?

Ones are a hundred, I am not sure about the 2's, never really bough a strap of them, I just ask for what they have when I go in.

Here are a couple notes I found at work - sold the for $17.50 on eBay. There is a market for cool bills if you find them.

A strap of any note ($1,2,5,10,etc.) always consists of 100 (one hundred pieces) regardless of denomination.

I have a few star notes that I find randomly as well. But one time the teller counted out the $25 in one's to me during a change order for work and got a 1935 bill in the mix.

Many years ago, one of the tellers asked me if I was interested in "dollars with stars on them". I said I was and she had a full strap of $1 star notes with the BEP strap on them. I still have that strap intact.

Question to any CRH's, does anyone at the same time while searching rolls, also ask about "Star * notes, radar notes(12344321), echo notes(12341234). If so, what kind of luck have you had. I've only picked up 2 STAR notes from banks in the past 2-years. Where do you find yours? Maybe our TN mgrs can set up a separate listing for paper money.

I just sold this one on eBay for $17.55!!! I'm always on the lookout for stuff like this!!! I used to sell a ton of star notes on eBay...you need to do your research to find out if it is a rare run (few printed) or not. There is a website that tells you all of this information and of they are in great shape people will pay!!!
