When camping or hiking, if you encounter a bear, RUN!

You may not out-run the bear, but you might out-run your companions.....

If ever chased by a Polar Bear, run to the left in a gradual circle. For some reason they can't do it very well, may save your life one day.

however, I know that we are all grown adults and have opinions.
Unfortunately, the best of friends may well end up in fisticuffs in the course of political conversation.

My desire is to present a thread for discussions that do NOT lead to fisticuffs.

Is this possible?
