After around three decades in a twelve foot tiller steer with a four horse I looked for an upgrade.A couple years of checking out the bottom of the barrel due to price ranges the sixteen foot goal was abandon when a fourteen turned up. A fiftieth anniversary deep Sea Nymph with a side console,25 h.p. Evinrude, the model just before the not good attempt to put an oil tank under the cowl, remedied by pulling them and going back to premix sometimes after the two strokes were run without oil, ouch.
With flat decking ,a huge plus for me,comes storage and live well. Very low hours on a mid nineties and stored indoors till now under a cover. After last years work boat is near mint factory.. Last run, thirty m.p.h. was top speed.Plenty fast to catch up with the fish around here and after putting around with the four horse this one makes me giggle. No offence to the puddle jumping little one as it was bought to be carried when needed to portage and owes me nothing. Sit in the back and it still rows like a leaf and has seen a lot of fish.
Next work will be replacing bow mounted trolling motor with an eighty pound thrust,an i-pilot system that will take some learning all its options and besides a foot pedal controller also a remote to control it and a conversion to twentyfour volt. My claim is I,m graceful on the water,l.o.l..There is a place I go by Waif and another its WaterWaif.
Its bad luck to rename a boat but this one is not named beyond its manufacturer,so perhaps in time it will get one.

Awesome I have a 2 person kayak rides low in the water. She gets face to face with the alligators. I'm thinking of selling it and getting a 3 person canoe so both boys and I can ride together. Where we go there are gators, huge alligator gar, sometimes dolphins and of course the boys favorites manatees

I've had a couple females rush us then they just disappear under the water. I looked on the bank and saw why, we got to close to their nests. Other than that we have an agreement, I give them their distance, and they give me mine! Hehe

What the...

I don't see your wife and kid working on the trucks- 'sup? You slacking off on 'em?

No wonder it's taking so long.

I know! My wife should be out there polishing the entire frame! Heck if I could get her to do that I'd be a nice guy and bring her some water. The ice might be just to much trouble for me to go to though! Lol

Barb,

There's still some good music still being made today.....we just have to dig a bit deeper to find it.

Hope all is well with you and yours.

Folks,

Another tune for the crew....Fleetwood Mac - Dreams.

Well Done, Bill....

How 'bout some early Fleetwood Mac with Bob Welch?

(From the album, "Bare Trees,"
Which I have a 33 1/3 rpm copy of.....)
The WHOLE album is Great!

Best,

Scott

By the way,
I've finally convinced one or two of my ground squirrel friends to pose.

Notice their "root-eatin'" grins?

I think I've come up with a solution to them chewing my tomato plant roots....

I diligently watched their activities for a few days and learned of their "holes" to underground.

There were about 5-6 that I counted.
And verified.

Can you say, "Naptha Balls?"

Yeah,
I put 3-4 moth balls in each of the holes that I determined to lead to the roots of my tomatoes.

This was NOT an extermination mission;
It was a "Discouragement" mission.

It appears to have worked;

The critters still come looking for sunflower seeds and my tomato plants appear to be on a re-bound. :thumbsup:

Here's the little devils now.....

I hope these are of the critters....

Chipmunks. Never caught them messing with a tomato plant, but hey, maybe their special plants.:laughing7:
Prime suspects here would be voles. Under cover of darkness. Those brown grass narrow ribbons on lawn after a winters snow melts are vole paths. Not going to see alot of that in Ga. though, sorry.Clean hole entrances opposed to when fresh a shallow pile from chipmunks usually.
