Last time I posted a pic on here, I got like 37 friend requests. Some in languages I couldn't even understand!
Not what the cat is looking for....... If I can get a pic back from a friend, it's not too bad, I'll scan it and throw it up for ya'll.
May take me a few days, though.

penzfan, I hope everything goes fine for you, and for TGF, too. My dad was always treated like a king at the Lake City V.A.
Him and the Colonel had a vets bus that runs from Moultrie Ga to Lake City every Thursday. If any vets along that route need a lift on Thursdays, contact the Moultrie Ga VFW. You gotta be able to get on the bus and off by yourself. There's no bathroom on the bus.
Colonel Hoyt is getting older and they need someone to take over driving and some other duties.

And remember: "Insanity is a sane reaction to an insane world". Just don't be hurting nobody along the way.

My Landlord is going racing this weekend.
Where?
I do not know.

I do know that I'll get to see Alice and maybe Olive this weekend!

I just finished helping him load his car on the trailer....

I wished him a safe race and a respectable finish.

My Friend, Sometimes the travel for better treatment is worthwhile. Could you please PM my Friend, 2GF, and see if the distance is worth the travel. I have no idea of where either of you two Brother Vets are, And I'm hoping that our Friend can finally get the respect that he deserves and sufficient medical care. I'd also like to hear of other VA centers that you've heard of that offer respect and proper care. You can PM me on this request, if you like. Thank You for your service! Best of Wishes, Scott
AU, I receive my VA treatment in Palm Beach County and would say a call to your local Congressman's Office would result in better treatment for those that are not receiving the care they need and deserve. Good Luck to all Vets that are in need of better treatment from their local VA Medical Center.

Pat,

Are we not on the same page?

Thank You for this information.

Seeing as how the VA is "in the news" of late,
And my passion to help other Vets,
Your post has inspired me to look into a blog, (I guess that's what they're called :icon_scratch:)
Or seek other Veteran's sites to post info on comments about different VA facilities across the country.

Thank You for "sparking" an idea towards helping....

You always have my best wishes,

Meow!

Scott

PS.
Have I told the story about secretly living in a closed wing of a VA facility?

It was surreal at the time.
Have you ever read this?

Eerily similar....

It was either that or my car...

Weigh the risks.....

Thank You, Brother.

And may I Welcome you to "The Critters."

Have you been here before?

I'm Scott,
(The 'crazy' one)
And soon Bill will be along to ask of your musical preference to play.

Upon which, several recipes will be offered, along with friendly banter.

Occasionally, some "heated" discussions may arise.

Fear not.
Nothing of Jerry Springer quality(?)

But we all get along.

Ain't no real talk of Religion.
No real talk of politics.
Just talk of our thoughts and daily life.

Heck,
This thread has over 12,000 "Likes,"
So we must be doin' something right!

I nominate Penzfan as a Member of the Critters.

An Honorary title will be determined later.

All in favor?

Best,

Scott

Second on the nomination, Scott.
Yeah, any blog, info, or anything you can put out there, you guys gotta stick together, cover each other.
Thank you, and thank all of you!

Now. Did someone say Atlanta Speedway! Yeah, dated a machinist, used to race there. Actually helped him rebuild an old chevy, much like dr is doing.
We had to convert it from 4 on the floor, to column shift. Guess it was handy, he's a machinist. He actually ended up having to manufacture his own parts for the conversion.
ok, I'm winding down, I think. Ya'll keep having fun! Thank you again, Scott!

eta: wait, I didn't think we had to nominate here. I thought it was a, ifn ya want in, you can come on in, typa thing. :laughing7:

Yeah, you got the race track right. I think....

Seems somebody got killed not long ago on the track.

Give me a minute while I search local reports....

Got it!

Pat,
Where did you live back then?

Must have been in my neck of the woods...

Best,

Scott

PS.

Thank you for seconding.
Any dissuasion?

The "nomination" procedure follows "Robert's Rules of Order."
http://www.robertsrules.org/

It's merely a formality, upon which honors are bestowed.

Like, "Grand Poobah" and such.

I think I've got a couple of "Honorary" titles myself.....
(No, I'm not talking about what y'all call me under your breath.....)

Yes,
I was invited to partake of a Jeopardy filming as a contestant.
My girlfriend sent off my PSD, or ACT, or UFO CIA :icon_scratch:
College entrance scores,
and just like that, I was invited.

I still have the letter of invitation.

I hate flying.

Too far to drive.

Alex can keep his money.

Pat,
I like the reason of your edit mentioning a Casio and a Grand....

When I attended the University of Kansas, I had a class on

Keyboard or whatever.
Heck,
This was back in the 80's, Girlfriend!

There were sound-proof rooms in Murphy Hall with fairly nice pianos in them.
Available to anyone 24 hours a day with Locksmithing abilities. :dontknow:

I used to take my girlfriend with me late in the evening to work out some melodies....

Yeah,
I've tickled some ivory....

I think I played some Dvorak for my Final.... I guess that's who it was.....:icon_scratch:

I had taught myself how to play a guitar right-handed, though I'm left-handed and
took the course hoping to learn to read music.

Epic Fail.

I still can't read music, though I can write a little bit.

I tune it up and play 'er by ear.

MY ear!

It don't sound too bad after a couple of Guinness's...

My Best,

Scott

2GF!

Welcome to the party!

I was just thinkin' of you, Bro!

Got a musical "gotta hear?"

Here's one while you ponder your request.....

My Best,

Scott

PS.

My commentary of the VA situation.....

The VA has always provided proper respect and care to me with the exception of the KC center, back in the early 80's.

Without going into many details,
What turned out to be a surgical procedure known as a left leg patella anterior release,
Medial subluxation of the patella as a complication of lateral retinacular release

(cased by jumping out of helicopters,)
Was diagnosed....
as a minor inflammation and I was given a prescription for 800mg Ibuprofen, which,
I learned, upon my own research,
Causes Renal problems at the dosage given to me.

This after a 2 hour trip, one way, on my motorcycle, and a 6 hour wait....

I HATE drugs!

TOO DAMN MANY Drugs are being prescribed.

Friends,

I've worked in Hospitals, Medical Centers and "Long-Term Care Facilities...."

Certain medicines may be needed to control imbalances of ones physiology, but to "dumb down" someone with drugs is criminal.
And,
If you know of any abuses like this or any other,
PLEASE PM me!
You will remain anonymous.

The night,
Grows dark,

The night grows pale....

And,

You can count in me....
Even during the darkest storm.

Count on me, I'll be there.,....

You should know my mien by now.....

Ps.

I know how how to get things done.....

I grow weary,

Soon, my reward of a Snickers candy bar will see me to sleep.

Shouldn't life be so simple?"

And, so,
Gold night, my Friends....

Pat had me off on a YouTube tangent (different thread) which caused me to run into this video...

At about 4:23 I had beer coming out my nose.

I'm still recovering-

Thanks for the journey Pat!

Its been raining most of the day today, Glad to read everyones hanging in there RC where you at bro? S'pose to rain more tomorrow.... Scott thanks for the communique' I've read it and reread it. Lots to say about it. I was going to get a divorce, came home one day she was laying in bed, he face was sagging........I rushed her to the ER. I thought she had a stroke.........well that sent us to the Mayo clinic, where they found a brain tumor! She has 2 more tumors now..........She doesnt have cancer, but it can turn into cancer......I hugged her and said "I said through better or worse, I promised to take care of you, and I still will" and that is what I have done........a man true to his word.
