My last thought on the "Great Animal/Humor" controversy....

View attachment 1007747

Humor is, among other things, subjective.
Meaning that someone (invariably) is offended by even the most innocuous of attempts at humor....

Everyone has their personal limits of tolerance and sometimes the few or lone individual must give to the majority either understanding or silence.

My silence will be noted regarding the subject from here on.

When one talks of "animals,"
Do they include insects?
Yesterday I was doing some cleaning in the Lock Shop and noticed a Black Widow creating a web in a corner.

Well, We can't have customers exposed to such danger.

So I waved my hand above and caught the top of the web and the spider and carried the whole business outside to some bushes.

Would you have done this?

Or would that spider be just a "smear?"

My love for "critters" include ALL Critters.

Hope all are Well.

My Best,

Scott

By the way,
Did someone mention "The Animals?"

I find this EARLY video apropos to the current "Hullabaloo!"

Sometimes I sit in silent protest.........the silence drives them crazy. They usually follow my silence with" he must be plotting, he's too quiet." So I just smile. I smile like I did reading my friend Scott's latest post.......oh no, what is he plotting haha? He's thinking to himself what he did with Black Widows when he was younger. Lets just say this, she always won.

Ha!
My Friend .
You "read me" as an "open book."

As well you should....

I have no pretenses, no personas, No games.
I'm real and honest.

As far as the "Black Widows,"

I've been married once.
Or twice.

OK!

THREE TIMES!

What I Thought was love, must have been lust.....

Full Screen?
Hell yeah!

Brother, you can bet that I ain't losin' ever again....

And So,
Having
survived those "black widows,"
Once, with only the clothes on my back.
And once was shot.....

Neither spiders nor bears scare me, my Friend.

The only thing I actually fear is not finishing what I have finally set out to accomplish....

And as far as being quiet,
Well,

My Grandmother, who just died last October, aged 98, used to give me "pearls of wisdom."
One was, "Scott, not every shut eye is a-sleepin'"

Sometimes, my Friend,
I find lucidity in silence.

Perhaps that is the reason for my love of camping and Nature.

Your ambient daily sounds have a great impact on your mental and physical well-being!

Let's roll some of that fabulous lucidity video, shall we?

You HAVE to notice the Ovation Guitar!!

Always My Best Wishes,

Scott

"Silent Lucidity"

Hush now, don't you cry
Wipe away the teardrop from your eye
You're lying safe in bed
It was all a bad dream
Spinning in your head
Your mind tricked you to feel the pain
Of someone close to you leaving the game of life
So here it is, another chance
Wide awake you face the day
Your dream is over... or has it just begun?

There's a place I like to hide
A doorway that I run through in the night
Relax child, you were there
But only didn't realize and you were scared
It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
Commanding in another world
Suddenly you hear and see
This magic new dimension

I- will be watching over you
I- am gonna help you see it through
I- will protect you in the night
I- am smiling next to you, in Silent Lucidity

[spoken during solo]
(Visualize your dream)
(Record it in the present tense)
(Put it into a permanent form)
(If you persist in your efforts)
(You can achieve dream control)
(Dream control)
(How are we feeling today, better??)
(Dream control, dream control)
(Help me)

If you open your mind for me
You won't rely on open eyes to see
The walls you built within
Come tumbling down, and a new world will begin
Living twice at once you learn
You're safe from pain in the dream domain
A soul set free to fly
A round trip journey in your head
Master of illusion, can you realize
Your dream's alive, you can be the guide but...

I- will be watching over you
I- am gonna help to see it through
I- will protect you in the night
I- am smiling next to you....

Strength comes from within.

Have you strength?

"But, Andy......

We gotta know....

Are you OK?"

"Yeah, Me and Barney are here for you.
If you ever need a tune-up I can get you a discount at Wally's Garage....if you recommend Goober..."

"SHUT UP. Gomer!"

And,
A bit of old timey, southern music....

Enjoy!

Be Well, my Friends,

Scott

"Gomer's" real value and voice.....

What is your real value and voice?

We all have "hidden talents."

What's yours?

One of mine is cross stitch and quilt making.

Yeah,
Don't talk about it around campfires; It would prove hard to explain....,.
what happened.
To you...

I always remember what Forest Gumps' mom said: A gentleman is someone, who tries to make everyone in his company, feel comfortable.

I wouldn't want anyone to leave. Scott, you are a rich thread in the tapestry of life, who without, the tapestry just wouldn't be as vibrant.
I too love to quilt and needlepoint. That cross-stitch talent was better left to my mom, aunts, and grandma's.

My sensitive friend squiggers, is just being true to herself, and I can find no fault in that.

GIB, you've never offended me(and that is no way to handle a casino job, I can see why ya'll's plan has not come to fruition, yet). I will say "Thanks PAL", though. ::)
I did wonder, at times, as I perused some of those passive/aggressive remarks or pics, whether you just didn't like women, cats, me, or just squiggy. I know some ppl care not, what buttons they push or triggers they flip.
Que sera sera...... Trust me, I haven't lost sleep over it.

TGF, you just crack me up sometimes. LOL!

I do hope all of us would maybe think twice, if we are AWARE, that something we say or posts could be considered offensive, to some.
Imho, insensitivity is something, we could all live better without.
HEY, I was raised in the south by a mean Marine that had 2 wars to fight through. Yeah, there were some radical concepts to overcome.......... I hope I can remain, not too rigid or too bendy. :notworthy:
The critters has got a good thing going......... good luck all.

Ya know, at the end of the day, ya gotta take the tuxedo off the goat, or wipe the lipstick off the pig......
or at least, just turn the light off. :tongue3:

Watch out for those weasels in the bedroom, though, my friend! LAWL!

Some people today can be offended by almost anything and some are totally tolerant. It is the nature of each beast. I am on the tolerant side because I was raised in an age of ethnic jokes. Most people, even the target group laughed at them. You had jokes like," What do you call an Italian submarine captain?" The reply was Chicken of the sea. This was based on the fact that Most Italian men impressed into the German navy surrendered when given a chance. There were also the many polish jokes like, "How many poles does it take to change a light bulb?" The answer was two, one to hold the bulb and one to turn the ladder. It was all in just and people of the time took it as such, but today, a lot of people are out there looking to be offended.
Just some thoughts from the past, Frank...-

Frank,

You do have a point.....pretty much everything today has to be pc or someone seems to get upset....I just accept humor for what it is something in jest with no
meanness intended.
