OK.

Here they are....

The label on the left was whom he recorded with before he obtained his own label, pictured on the right.
Same company, but by then he was a "Featured Artist," worthy of his own label.

And, I have Ted's first pressing for Columbia Records....
Back when it was common for two different Artists on one disc.

This one is HIGHLY Collectible.

And I got 2!

Speaking of 78rpm's,

Perhaps you've heard this song from the early 30' (1931?) remade 40-50 years later....

Best,

Scott

I have a couple of dozen Ted Lewis 78's, all collectible with a premium before his own label...
But, I do not have this selection.
Give me a minute and I'll post photos of a couple of labels that he recorded on....

I have never heard the original...'till now.

Here I thought David Lee Roth wrote this....is it the same song?:icon_scratch:

Yep.

Same song. 80's Slant, Dig?

Funny what some would consider to be new is really old for those who lived it or studied it....

Hope you are Well, my Friend!

Scott

My Dad had at least 2-3 thousand records years ago. Music from all over the world, 78's, wind up phonographs....he bought and sold them also.... I was taught classical guitar, in the style of Andrés Segovia. I picked it up fast...but. When I heard Hendrix, Sabbath, Yardbirds for the first time...I said
Ohhhh Yehhhhh!! That's what guitars are for!!!:headbang:
I started down the rebellious road.:laughing7: Hey when I first heard Yngwie Malmsteen's Neoclassical style, I was a leg up! Then I got into the blues. My Dad had a lot of early blues records so I "unrebelled" a bit.

The first time I saw "crossroads" I gave Ralph Machio the finger and stated loudly...Classically trained playing the blues!! That's my bag... you....:laughing7:

I have a few 45's and that's it for vinyl. I do have a bang & Olufsen turntable.
Will I invest in vinyl? No. Costs to much.

Well that's good news! Remember what you did!!

Brad Delps last recorded song. Obviously a shout out to Boston. Brad was getting ready to rejoin Boston before his unfortunate passing. All I can say is that it would have been grand, a highlight of his life...And ours.

My earliest love of vinyl and music came in the mid 60's, when a KU student had rented the basement of our neighbor's house. We met and during his Semester, we became fast Friends, always talking about music and artists.

He gave me an album, the very FIRST album that I ever owned, and I felt bad because I didn't have a decent turntable and all.
I had a "Close and Play."

If you're old enough, you'll know what that was....

The album that he gave me?

Best,

Scott

PS.

I'll pay $100 or more for a 78 of Robert Johnson.

And many other Bluesmen!

Let me know if y'all got 78's.
I'll tell ya what they're worth.

OK.
And vinyl, too.
I guess....
