Wow, what a day! Hangin with Carolina Tom in the Low Country - a two day hunt moving into Day 3 tomorrow. We had a good day yesterday at the Civil War skirmish site we call Bullet Creek because it's give up about 70 Civil War bullets in a few trips - and very little esle but bullets. Tom had a great find he will be posting soon. So we go to the second site this afternoon, an old Plantation and combined Civil War site. I hit two great finds - first an unexpected Colonial coin, looks like a King George, but not as clear as many I've found when I lived in NY area. I'm not posting back because there's nothing to see. But my best find and first ever was...CSA button!! Wow, what an honor to find this one. Really looks great. The back is still filled with rusted dirt as shown. Haven't done anything with it. We ate dinner twice at Waffle House (no I'm not proud, but it was good:-). Can't get damn images right, sorry. They are showing up as right, but not posting that way...

That button is beautiful!!.... congrats!

Thanks, all. Sorahc, I haven't taken the mud out of back. Figure it's safe to do so, but was awaiting any advice.

That’s a beautiful button and in real nice condition. Congrats on the save.

Beautiful button recovery! :occasion14:

Amazing Relics Toms a grest guy Im sure you were killing it great post

Congrats on an epic find my man. Thanks for the free metal detecting lesson.

Bergie came running over and said that he “thought” he had an eagle button, but had not looked at it yet.He opened his tightly closed fist, and started removing the dirt... I was floored when CSA appeared.

That IS EXACTLY what we were looking for, and Bergie found it. Wow.

Beautiful CSA button. Congrats on the save and rewards of locating the area that is producing.

That's a great find any day! I would have loved showing that to Tom. Congratulations Bud!

It was excruciating RN. He found it with an Ace 150! It’s not the machine, it’s the detectorist, he informed me. I just stood there with my mouth agape.

great find.I hope to dig one.
