The went to another branch (over lunch today) of the same CU where I posted about the very nice teller earlier this week.
This branch had $711 in loose halves in their coin counter, but would not sell them to me (much less sort them for me ) unless I was a member.
Well, I figured $25 (minimum amount to open an account) was worth the "price of admission" (given the other branch's results); plus there are nine of these branches all relatively close to me and can only provide more sources as well as sometime dumping stations; as they're each equipped with coin counters (again, for their members....and I'm now their latest) 8).
The results were worth the "price of admission"
The $711 in loose halves produced at a rate of almost 7% !!
10 90%ers (42p, 53d, 61d (was still missing this one), 64px3 and 64dx4)
85 40%ers (65x7, 66x9, 67x22, 68dx29, 69dx18)
a nice 81s proof and an Italian 100 lire ('79) coin.
96 keepers, plus the 100 lire coin !
Yeah, I'm starting my weekend off right.
