The went to another branch (over lunch today) of the same CU where I posted about the very nice teller earlier this week.

This branch had $711 in loose halves in their coin counter, but would not sell them to me (much less sort them for me :( ) unless I was a member.

Well, I figured $25 (minimum amount to open an account) was worth the "price of admission" (given the other branch's results); plus there are nine of these branches all relatively close to me and can only provide more sources as well as sometime dumping stations; as they're each equipped with coin counters (again, for their members....and I'm now their latest) 8).

The results were worth the "price of admission"

The $711 in loose halves produced at a rate of almost 7% !!

10 90%ers (42p, 53d, 61d (was still missing this one), 64px3 and 64dx4)
85 40%ers (65x7, 66x9, 67x22, 68dx29, 69dx18)
a nice 81s proof and an Italian 100 lire ('79) coin.

96 keepers, plus the 100 lire coin !

Yeah, I'm starting my weekend off right.

Nine branches all close by, you have hit the jackpot! Sounds like you can "mine" the silver there for a long time to come, best of luck.

Stopped at a few of the branches of "my" new credit union on Saturday, although a couple didn't have the necessary staff to handle my requests to buy the half bags off the coin counter. Whenever possible though, did grab whatever loose halves/rolls they may have had. I'll followup with the other bag purchases today or tomorrow.

First branch

$7 loose halves: '67
$481 bag of loose halves: 64px1, 66x2, 67x8, 68dx1, 69dx4, Costa Rican 1 colon ('76), Mexican ten peso ('98), Mexican $500 (old) peso ('87), Arabic coin, Greek 20 drachmai coin ('78), 50 cent token from Hollywood Casino, Shreveport, LA & a Quicktag token.

Second branch

$400 in rolled halves: 65x2, 66x2, 67x3, 68dx3, 69dx1 & 03p&d

Third branch

$200 in rolled halves:66x4, 67x2, 68dx4 & 69dx1

Fourth branch: 69dx1

Managed to "pry" another bag of halves from one the the branch's coin counters.

$374.50 yielded: 64dx4, 68d, 69dx2 and an 87d.

There's still another branch of my new CU (whose coin counter bag is currently holding $711) that I'm trying to get.
