My daughter stopped at a curbside pile of odds and ends the other day. There were some pieces of cheap costume jewelry among the items and she took them home with her to examine later. This Jesus pendent was in with the jewelry. Its marked 14K and if my scale is correct, weighs 10.7 grams. Spot value should be about $316.50. I'll take it to a reputable coin shop that I do business with this Wednesday and have them double check the weight and purity.

Great find! I've picked up a item here and there from the "FREE" piles some
folks leave the the front of their driveways. Odds are you wouldn't see that
in a city setting, but out here in "rural land" it's not uncommon at all for
"stuff" to be put out at the street with a "Free" sign on it, so they can
share their extras with neighbors.

Found a folding camp-type chair sitting out one day with a "free" sign on it, and
since I wanted an extra chair for my shop I picked it up. Got home and got to looking
at it, and after a bit of research found that it was a folding chair made exclusively for
high-end Airstream trailers. Came in a set of 4 with a folding table, and the single chair
still has a value of $40+ in it's original, beat-to-crap condition.

Your daughter is lucky! I hope it is real (looks like it is) and she gets a nice chunk of change from it! Wow, and you can't beat free!

Wow, great find, you just never know where you will find treasures. A good friend of mine actually found a Hitlers Photo alblum in the trash in Ohio. It must contain over 150 pictures. In the same pile of trash was a Civil War Bayonet. Wow, don't you just love kids, that have no idea what they are throwing away!!
