Yep, its twisted like that, but it looks like his photo is a composite and if so, I cannot tell how long the wire is. Do you know if they were variable lengths? I have the M&M Projectiles book and while it gives a real good description of friction primers it neglects to give dimensions.

Ok, looks like what I have is indeed screen door hardware as its about twice the size of the ones I'm seeing. Oh well...
