Not a Pro ( if it matters ).I have no intention of wading/diving or tempting Murphy's Law...just wondering if I need to run back to my car before the 3rd raindrop hits it or not? How come online search only brings up the manual for the "Pro"? Is the detachable control box the only difference?

The CZ-7a is many times better than the pro. You'll hear a lot about the pro because its popular right now. If rain bothers you, slide a gal baggie over the CZ's control box.

Thanks for your reply. Still curious about the " official " stance. The Pro manual states the control housing is completly splashproof as long as headphone jack or plug is inserted.

Yes, without the plug or cap it floods.
