Not thin, funny little hook in the notching, was that intentional? Also, it seems this may have been re-sharpened quite a bit, could that have caused the funny little shoulder-barb.

thanks for looking

Wow, Nice little point there. Not sure where you are at, or what type it would be? I love the material, form and in situ photo. If it were found in the mid Atlantic area I would tend to look at it as a Kirk corner notched?

Thanks redbeardrelics. I'm in NE okla. I just got an ID on another forum, a Spavinaw Creek type....terminal Hopewell, late Woodland,,,which fits the time frame from this location I've been hunting. Always on the lookout for something older. This one is solved.

Nice jasper point. I like the color of jasper but I just don't find many whole. That's a good one.

Very nice find. It has the outline of a Stillwell but Woodland flaking and no basal grinding. I'm glad someone else typed it 'cause I would have missed it.

Thanks guys...rock, I figured since it's pink, it's Kay county chert, but I wouldn't know jasper unless someone handed me a piece of it. For some reason I think the jasper around here is an ochre color, but I might be making that up. Neanderthal said what it appears to be, Twitch. Pretty sure I've never found a base like this one before, I like it!

We call it jasper here but it might be a type of flint I dont know for sure. I do have a nice turtle back scraper made from it. But mine is a deeper almost purple pint color.
