I've planned a 4 day detectin trip with my Canadian friends Arthur and Donny since January when they came to Tennessee to do some detectin with me. Well first off these guys are very accomplished detectorist that really know their stuff. I was amazed at the amount of old sites they had available to hunt. Alot more history and population there in Canada than in Tennessee. We hunted some farm fields and parks. I found alot of old relics, clay pipe stems, clay marble, flat buttons and some old coins.
I recall one farm field we hunted where Arthur called me over to show me a 1859 large cent on top of the ground, he gave it to me so that was his find but I have it pictured below. My quest was for some fishies ( very small silver 5 cent piece ) and a large cent. I was able to find both of my wishes with 2 fishies an 1886 and 1907 also a 1917 large cent. Donny found a 1854 large token at one sight and gave it to me also he said he had hundreds of them. I did manage to find a cool little silver ring, a 1941 silver dime a 1918 farthing, a 1888 I.H. Cent alot of Georgies ( american equivalent to a wheat penny ) and a gold plated locket with the Mona Lisa pictured on the front at one of the many Toronto Parks we visited.
We all had alot of fun and little sleep as we detected day and night. I learned that one of the parks was not a place to go alone at night as the park was a frequent of many prostitutes both male and female.
I had to threaten one of the male prostitutes in the park with my shovel drawn back. LOL
The guys got a good laugh out of that.
I can't wait to go back and Arthur and Donny were fabulous host.
P.S. I held onto some zipper pulls as an attempt to make MasterEagle22's mouth water
