detected a bike trail a couple days ago and as I was running out oflight I found a penny and found 9 more pennies within a 2 ft square area and was still getting hits but I couldnt see to dig so I went back the next day and detected it again finding 12 more pennies ,no wheaties :( oldest being '80 and newest being '02 thats a total of 22 pennies in one 2 ft square area! none were farther than 2" down. finally they quit poping up and I left the spot. it is a black top bike trail like you find at some state parks. my only thoughts is that someone must have wrecked thier bike and the pennies went a flyin! didnt bother to take pics cuz they were just pennies. but thought I'd post my "bike wreck cache" :).

Hmmm! Brings paved bike paths to mind. A lot of people walk along them as well as ride bikes. There are getting to be more of them as cities get grants to put them in. Maybe a good future site. Spotz
