there is a old 10 acre orange grove that has been recently torn out and plowed across the street from my house. its about 10 square acres. I heard there once was a old house located in the orange groves at one time?? I detected it for 6 hours and found no old coins only 1 clad dime. I also found lots of old shot gun shells and this old glass doll leg that was on top of the freshly plowed dirt.. detecting old fields is tuff work! I rather stick to schools and parks!!

It is indeed tough detecting fields. You could quite easily go 3, 4, 5 times to the same field and miss the house site completely. Plus, the plows could have smeared out the remains so there's no distinct iron patch there. But you might just come up with something good if you keep at that place for a few more trips.

That doll leg definitely has an antique look to it.

I think detecting fields is a blast, you can use a shovel to dig. And u never know what u will find! I will field hunt ANYDAY over a boring park hunt!
