Good topic Free!! I really am just starting to get serious this year. I am looking to get as many "firsts" of type coins I can. I am not really concerned with dollar value nor am I interested in clad coins really(although finding coins is my game!!!). So far this year I've found a Walking liberty half, Barber half and a wheat penny, so I have alot of holes to fill. But thats what we do LOL
Thanks Free, HH

My goal is to find:

1. 3000 coins (I'm at 326, over 10%)
2. My first silver coin.
3. My first real gold find.
4. My first coin with a dating beginning in 17.
5. Get my elCheapo hunting buddy to buy his own decent detector and stop using my old BH.
6. Try to get my kids into the hobby.
7. Clean and dispose of as much trash as possible from my favorite hunting spots.

Since I found my first 2 silver rings last weekend, I can scratch that from my list!! Goode luck, and may we all hit our hunting goals this year!

Since I mainly hunt the beach, my main goal would be to find my first piece of gold jewelry, but our season is over till Thanksgiving. To hot to go to the beach in the summer for the locals, but I'll still be there! HH 8)

Good topic Pete,

1: $400 in clad or more (approx. 1/3rd the way there so far).

2: 25 Silver coins (approx. 1/3rd the way there so far).

3: 5 pre 1900 coins (passed that goal already).

4: 5 pre 1900 tokens (3 more to go).

5: 50 civilwar era relics (1860s) (more than 1/2 way there).

6: anything from the war of 1812 (no luck yet).

7: 20 silver & 5 gold rings (found 2 gold so far, and approx. 1/2 way there on the silver).

8: a coin that has eluded me still to this day (a silver 3 cent star).

9: a solid silver spoon (1800s) no luck yet.

10: 25 pre 1900 bottles (have found a few so far).

other than that, not much I can think of at the moment!

My only goal is to have fun metal detecting. It would be nice to find some really nice silver coins but I am not going to work so hard at it that I don't enjoy my hobby. I'll just do thorough site research and take what comes. Hope to hit at least one Civil War battle field this year.

Wow! impressive goals everybody.

For me this year... fun comes first, but a pre-1900 silver dollar, or any buffalo nickel would be great.

My lifetime goal...any gold coin -
....congrats on yours pete

good luck to everyone.

My goal is to find the time to get out there and swing the coil. Owning/operating a small business leaves little time for the hobby I enjoy so much. :( And any pre 1900 coin or token. ;D
