Do You Have An Artifact Room?

I was just curious as to how everyone displays their artifacts. Do you have a room with your pieces set up in it? Do you have them stored away in boxes? Do you have them spread out all around the house?

When we moved into our new house I had most of my collection still at my parents house in the basement. After we got settled in I took an old workshop that the man that lived there before used for woodworking and cleaned it up, painted the walls and the shelving, put in new indoor/outdoor carpet, and moved everything into it. My wife wasn't real keen about me having things in the house because I wouldn't let her move anything to clean the shelves, so this worked out really well. This building is about 20 feet long by 8 feet wide and is perfect for my showcases, trays, curio cabinets, and shelves. I have the bulk of my collection out on display so I can just go in and look at anything I want, plus it makes it easier if someone stops by so I don't have to go digging everything out just to show them something.

If you have a room or a display of some kind then let's see what they look like.

Here's some pictures of my artifact room.

Thanks jimb. I too have tons of stuff in boxes. Mostly broken or damaged pieces and pieces of worked flint, like crude Scrapers and things. I get them out every now and then and look through them and usually end up pulling out a piece or two and finding somewhere to display it.

Wow, what an unbelieveable collection. How long have you been hunting?

Thanks Josh. I have been hunting for 43 years. I found my first point at age 6 and have been hooked ever since.

You should seriously consider museum status...there could be some tax benefits. Outstanding collection, multiple examples of everything, an archeology student could write many papers from your labor.

Here are some pics of my room. I looked at the pics and realized that my shelf needs a serious dusting. Caused myself some more work. The lighting is so dark down there that I never noticed. I have a bunch of cases that are not displayed yet, maybe someday I'll get them up.Anyhow here are a few pics. Ignore the dust and enjoy.

Happy Huntin' , Bent-Twig.

This is a great Thread ;D

Creek, Thankyou for posting a close up of your Drills, the centre drill is a beauty, Love it !!!

Arrow, I agree 'woman-cave' just don't sound right, I'll have to think of something else. ::)

After reading about 'man caves' I got urge to dress in a bear skin bikini & find a peice off wood & bash my husband on the head, trouble is I don't have a husband. Maybe I was really a cave-woman in a past life. :icon_scratch: hehe!!!

Nice room Twig, I did wanna get my duster n polish out though. ;D it's a woman thang. ::)

Great pics guys, very enjoyable, Thanks.

Your room will definitely need a name! I can't believe someone hasn't snatched you up yet! If you go around wearing a bear skin bikini I'm sure you'll have plenty of guys wanting to be your cave man. Did you even see Clan Of The Cave Bear starring Daryl Hannah? She sure made for a purdy cave woman! :love10:

Here's a few drills just to make this artifact related. ;D

Yep lets try to keep this artifact related lol. ::)

Fantastic drills, the second one on the top is a beauty. Thanks for showing me, I love drills. ;D

Molly, here's you some more Drills to drool over, I know I do. These aren't mine(I wish!!). They belong to a friend of mine from Cincy.

If creekwalker looks close I'm sure he will recognize these.

Those are fine drills your friend as there Steve, like the very first drill. I'm betting those drills were dug up, there's noway a plowed field would produce anything of that length. Makes me wanna go dig but, its a hard n nasty job. :-\

Very nice drills guys, my favourites, I luv um. Great Thread.

Molly. :) ( I'm still drooling btw) ;D

RH, I'm not too sure, I mean if I asked a guy...'Would you like to come in my Lair?' he might think I'm hitting on him. :icon_scratch: Although, If I asked a guy 'Would you like to come in my cave?' lol he mighten think I'm going to torture him. ;D

I dunno this is going to take some working out, I need female input here girls..

Tell you what, whom ever thinks of a good name for my Artifact room, will recieve a free Arrow. Something catchy, appropriate & not
Artifact room.

Molly. ::)
