Don't write off what is found at a convenience store
Picture this...
I worked in a convenience store, with gas, and a lady walks in to pre-pay for her gas, and she hands me ten dollars in coin change. I hate getting a lot of coins, but it's legal tender and there was nothing I could do about it.
So I looked down at the handful, and there were nine dollars worth of the walking Liberty half dollar, all silver, and all from the mid-to-late 1940's, and a near mint condition 1927 Peace dollar.
Needless to say, I was more than happy to trade my paper-thin ten dallar bill for that pile of coins.
