First time out in awhile. (Work's been crazy, trying to figure out a particular problem with a power-tool design).
Anyhow... got a chance to hit a nice local elementary school (built in 1964) that has a peculiar zone in the area of the baseball fields. Almost like there's a 50ft wide band of older than average coins. Old Aerial photos show a bald spot in the woods where the older stuff is. Maybe it was where the local kids played before the school was built.
Today's haul for a 2 and a half hour hunt, was 6 clad Quarters, 7 clad dimes, 11 Memorials, 3 Wheaties, and 2 Big-Fat-Silver Washington Quarters. (1950 and 1953). The quarters were pretty close to one another, and pretty deep. (6 or 7 inches).
Important detector lesson learned today. I get just about an inch and 1/2 less depth out of the F70 when I run it quiet as when I run it chatty. Quiet makes for a more enjoyable hunt, and I really didn't feel like I was missing anything today. Maybe I'll save chatty configurations for deep woods hunting.
