We went back to the site where I found my Milled Pillar Half Real last week. It was supposed to rain Sunday so Saturday we hit it. Beautiful weather to swing our machines. The twins were psyched as much as I was considering the potential of the site. We all agree that the site dates to probably 1780's or so. No foundation stones or bricks were found so it was a log structure. Within the first half hour I found both of my coppers. A nice 1801 Draped Bust Large Cent was liberated first. Nice coin. 20 minutes later the badly corroded copper read very low on the Vision. 50 VDI. Probably colonial due to the low reading. Typical counterfeit. This site was hopping in the first couple of decades of the 19th century.I found the cufflink last. No visible markings. There is still some corn standing that we have intentions of hitting in the future. Kyle will post pictures of the site. We will be on to a new site for next week.
