Like any panning, practice with lead shot to get the hang of it. Know that it isn't very efficient but if it's all you can do...good luck and heavy pans!

As with any dry process, the drier the material the better.

Dry panning is a real fast way to get discouraged. Sure it's possible ,but...... A drywasher, you can move a realistic amount of material and recover gold. There are plenty of clubs in the Mojave desert area , some with very good claims and great members willing to help you get started. Good Luck

yep a drywasher would improve the take! BUT if your prospecting a location , it would be EZer to do this VRS. hauling the equipment out until you find a loaded location! BUT ill bet you he goes through a lot of gloves using his method! Id rather use a small wisk broom and a small dust pan to pick it all up!
