Just finished my straight shaft for the DF this week. Perfect balance and longer shaft length for more coverage. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1426359907.840623.jpg

Nice man! The grip looks like a mt. bike bar end, I have a couple around here. I've been thinking of trying a project like this for my X-Terra. The oval shape of the grip is annoying to me and the balance (as you know), not great with the 10.5 DD. Looks great!

Scott! That's exactly what it is. Just trim it off with tubing cutters to match the length of Diamondback grip( with large lip cutoff). It makes swinging a heavy coil much, much better. I did not care for the look or feel of the 10.5" DD on the Xterra. Something just didn't feel right about it. Lol! I'm going to make a rear mount straight shaft for my cz-21 next. I bought 12' of the aluminum tubing at a local welding/steel supply shop.

Thanks man, I was going to ask where you got the aluminum. Sounds like a plan! The X-Terra definitely needs to ditch the 's' shaft, but I would like to do the grip anyway as I prefer round, like a bicycle grip, lol.
