dug a buffalo this morning

A little bit of sidewalk construction this morning on the way to work, got a cruddy wheatie (I think 1936) and this Buffalo Nickel. The best that I can make on it it's a 1916...now if it's a double die version, I'll never know! But looking at it thru my eye cup I don't think so.
It's only my 3rd Buffalo nickel in 4yrs of detecting!

Buffalos are hard finds today. They were plentiful in the 60's and easy finds back then. I guess we cleaned them out of many areas. I find more V's today than Buffalos.

Nice find, I think I have only found 3 detecting and 3 coin roll hunting. The ones pulled out of the ground were brownish red but readable, those from the coin rolls the date and lettering is totally worn off. HH
