No, nothing spectacular there. GVI coins still turn up in change from time to time but they're not a big deal unless they're silver.

My only idea on canadian copper is this - they are the same basic composition as U.S. coins, that makes the copper in them worth about 2 cents. It is illegal to melt us coins, so their value(unless it's a key-date) is one penny. To my knowledge the U.S. govt. cannot dictate whether or not you melt foreign coins.

Heck, they can't dictate if you can melt American coins, either. Sure, there's some pretty stern warnings out there. But there isn't anything that says you can't, legally. Refiners buy silver coins all the time. ;)
