The weather was great yesterday. Plus 8 and sunny. I finally got out for a afternoon hunt and the digging was great. The ground was super soft in most places. I went to a old cellar hole site that i knew the long grass would be down for sure. I was hoping for some old silver or military but i knew it was slim because of the type of farm site i was on. It was mainly a quiet area for hits except lots of oxen shoes but as usual there was no shortage of large coppers near the foundation. When they first came out i thought they would end up in great shape by the look of them but they deteriorated fast by the time i got home. It was great to get out and the weather looks good for awhile yet. In the end i got a really big 1813 one stiver, a rough 1815 halifax broke token and a nice 1843 New Brunswick half penny token. I cant complain about no old silver because i luckily found a 1700’s sterling spoon already this year to keep me satisfied. Thanks for looking! [emoji2][emoji106]

Kiddo1979, Congratulations on the great Nova Scotia relics! I am a direct descendant of Captain Benjamin Ellenwood, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, one of the most prolific privateers for the King in the War of 1812. Coincidentally, he was murdered by one of his crew in 1815. Man I would love to be up there digging with you! Keep hitting that place hard. Sub 8-)

Thats some great family history. If you have any links or more info to his history then post it up for me. Also you’ll have to eventually take a trip up here sometime and we’ll go. We will drive to some of my untouched old spots! [emoji2][emoji106]

Congrats on some nice finds! Take a long a small jar with mineral oil in it to drop the coins in which should keep them from degrading.
