Electric mystery toy, hummingbird, and asst'd

I hit the farm briefly today in hopes of finding a few things before Ridley gets a swing at the place again. ;D I think he picked the yard clean of all silver, because he only left my a 1941 Wheat, and a load of shotgun shell heads. Dirty dog!!!
I hit a few different areas, and came up with:
*A pewter hummingbird,
*A lead shot (Charlie, what was this fired from?)
*Some sort of heavy metal electric tractor/train? Anyone know what this beast is?
*What looks like a copper "O",
*A silver piece of metal with some funky designs in it. No idea what it is?
*A play knife & play money,
*1/3rd of a toy soldier (again, no head!)
It was slim pickings for me today.
I'll try harder next time. ;D
Thanks everyone,
MM

Nice finds! Your copper "O" shaped thing is a CW era tent grommet. :)

I disagree... It's close, but it's the base of a twist latch deal...grommets are much different... Um, I'll take some pics... and post here in a minute...

Ok... I have the "male" part of your "female" latch part... era Grommets also shown.

Correct Jim.

I'm pretty sure that is the electric engine from an early Lionel or American Flyer locomotive (?-4-? configuration). That piece laying under it in one of the pictures is the center rail pickup (the tracks have three rails). The remains of the wheel are typical for Lionel train engines.

Jay

I agree with Jay. I used to take the body off the Lionel locomotive and ended up with what you have. It used to go a lot faster stripped down to just the motor.... :icon_jokercolor:

Definitely an electric train locomotive although my guess is Marx not Lionel or American Flyer.
I'm curious about that silver blob. Did it read as silver?

Joe,
The silver blob read as "beep" on my Silver Umax. ;D  No display on this model, you just get to know the sounds and do a lot of digging. I still haven't figured out what that blob was. :icon_scratch:

Dang Charlie's Good!
I would have said it was fired on a Tuesday, going on the slant of the left side of the trejectry inclination.
Nice finds, Doug,

Interesting stuff as usual brother. I am too busy getting unpacked in Goldsboro to do any hunting yet...plus I am presently at home sick. My next big project in to dig 2 ouhouses I have found on an 1898 Sanborn map in town. Keep up the great hunting, you help keep the excitement up to a guy at home sick and in need of more unpacking! Take care, Bryan in Goldsboro

Tell Ridley, I said to leave you a few silvers next time... ;D
You did find some nice relics though, Congrats!
The big electric thingy, if not the cable car, could have been an old Lionel train similar to this one...
Good luck on a positive ID, & Happy hunting!

Thanks everyone, but this hunt was from March 2007. Someone (I won't say who ;D ) brought it back to life.
It is pretty neat to see what I found over a year ago though again.

Great hunt and cool finds. I think the electric motor looks like a toy train engine or transformer.

Thanks for sharing.
