Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I thought I'de try out a spot not far down the road. There are some power high lines that run across a section of this area so I was wondering if it would make my XLT go crazy.Well my detector seemed to work fine and I even detected a 56 wheatie but my pin pointer "vibra probe 570" was going crazy once I turned it on to find the wheatie. The vibra probes has no on /off switch, it shuts off automatic in one minute if nothing is detected and it would not shut off and just kept buzzing away like it was detecting metal.Once I moved away from that area and the power lines it went back to normal and shut off as it should.I just found it strange that the emf did nothing to the detector but made my pin pointer go haywire.
Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their pin pointer near power lines with no negative affects to their detector ? .....................
