Once again for some reason I decided to go back to the ca. 1790 house/courthouse site. The ground is still frozen solid and it was 25 degrees outside. I've mentioned it previously but the homeowner recently bulldozed the patch of woods in which the foundation was located and stirred up the ground quite a bit. Now it's just a big open field and all the coins and relics are either on the surface or 1-2" deep.

Been over the area about 30 times but I keep finding stuff every time I go back. Today was no different.

Started right away with the cut Irish Halfpenny with a 81 clearly visible, making the coin 1781. About 5 minutes later I dug (sorry, I mean CHISELED) the 1788 Connecticut copper. I think I hit it pretty good unfortunately. Or maybe the bulldozers did. It's in really nice shape otherwise.

Next I got the cufflinks and man are they beautiful. Never found sterling cufflinks like this before, let alone some that have initials on them. These say "JC". Just so happens the man who built the house had a last name of Clark, and a son named Jehiel..... Definitely one of my favorite finds I've ever made.

Thanks for looking!

Silver Cufflinks are a superb find, and probably quite old looking at the script :headbang:

So hard to find a matching pair of anything from the Colonial Era. I always find one shoe buckle, one ornate button, one stirrup and so on. That's what makes your cufflinks such a rare find. Definitely banner worthy, in my book.

The coins are impressive but those cuff links steal the show for me. Congratulations on some outstanding finds.

Amazing silver cuff links. Top shelf find. Dig, chisel, hatchet every beep in that spot mate.

Awesome finds. The cufflink is sweet. Id go back and look for the other matching set for the other sleeve. Very unlikely they lost both though at the sane time! [emoji106][emoji2]

Oh trust me the second the ground thaws even just a little bit I'll be back. I'm going to hold off for now because I don't want to damage anything else trying to extract it :BangHead:

Those silver links are just incredible! One of the most beautiful items you can pull from the dirt in my opinion. I would be super psyched with those!

That's a super day. A neat find, a state copper, and a killer relic. I think it makes the cufflink many times better knowing who's it was.
